I recently got the Jawbone bluetooth headset which supposedly has a very advanced noise reduction system that would let you carry on a conversation in a crowded bar or nightclub. Not that I'll be going to any of those places starting in a few weeks. I wonder if it could filter out a crying baby though. You can check out a demo on their website. It works by detecting when you are speaking and then filtering out all the other noise. Since I can't really tell if it works, don't be surprised if I ask you if you can hear me okay. :) One modification I've made is removing the earloop and putting a jabra eargel on it so it fits better. This allows you to put the headset on more easily.
